What is RidgeRun's Research Partnership Program?

RidgeRun believes in academy and industry interaction and encourages the partnership on research programs in order to explore the state of the art in different embedded systems and computer vision topics.

Additionally, RidgeRun encourages the embedded system development on newer platforms by working in conjunction with industry partners such as Nvidia to donate hardware to universities for its usage in the different courses and expose the new generations to the latest industry technologies.

RidgeRun has partnered with the TEC, one of the top universities in engineering in Costa Rica, and the Signal and Image Processing Laboratory (SIPLab), lead by the Dr. Pablo Alvarado-Moya, to create the dispTEC program, a research program targeted to explore and develop state of the art algorithms for computer vision.

The past years, the dispTEC program has used the Nvidia's Jetson platforms for its research. This work in conjunction with RidgeRun engineers, university professors, and students has to lead to an amazing synergy in the exploration of the platform capabilities. You can watch a brief summary of some of the algorithms developed in the 2017-2018 research goal at:

RidgeRun is always happy to help academy and thus, we have worked on conjunction with Nvidia for the donation of several Nvidia Jetson TX2 development kits to be used on their courses.

For the time being, RidgeRun has donated to the two largest universities in Costa Rica: the TEC and the UCR. Currently, the boards are being used on different image processing, embedded systems, robotics, and computer vision courses.
